Summerset Retirement Villages extend partnership with netball

Netball New Zealand (NNZ) is pleased to extend their partnership with Summerset Retirement Villages, who are set to continue their support of netball for another two years.

Summerset Retirement Villages are the official retirement village partner of NNZ and also an official partner of the Silver Ferns and New Zealand’s elite domestic league, the ANZ Premiership.

They came on board with NNZ in 2021, growing their support to include the national team and the domestic league a year later, and now extending that partnership until the end of 2025.

NNZ chief executive Jennie Wyllie was pleased to confirm the extended partnership with Summerset Retirement Villages.

“We first teamed up two years ago and have seen our relationship with Summerset continue to grow during that time,” she said.

“We are a sport for every generation and one which will continue to promote healthy lifestyles and lifelong bonds – something which aligns closely with Summerset and their values, and also highlights our mutual commitment to excellence.

“I look forward to the next two years and building on the close ties we have already established.”

Summerset CEO Scott Scoullar said they were proud of their relationship with Netball New Zealand and were delighted to extend their partnership.

“The opportunity two years ago to join with Netball New Zealand was something new for us, but it has been a partnership which our family at Summerset have enjoyed, knowing we are supporting a sport which has such a rich history in our country,” he said.

“At Summerset, we believe it is important to partner with organisations that are important to our residents and their families, and who can reach all New Zealanders, we love that netball is a sport which can do just that – from those who still play to the many volunteers, and those, like many in our villages, who are the cheerleaders from the sidelines.

“We look forward to building on our relationship with Netball New Zealand.”

Summerset Retirement Villages have 38 villages across New Zealand, from Whangarei in the north to Dunedin in the south.

The villages are designed for over 70s and provide vibrant communities and a continuum of care, from independent living through to care facilities on site.
