NZ Men announced for Cadbury Netball Series

The New Zealand Men’s and Mixed Netball Association has named a 14-strong squad to compete at next month’s Cadbury Netball Series.

The four-day series will see the NZ Men go up against the Silver Ferns, a NZ A side and the NZ Under 21s at Fly Palmy Arena in Palmerston North from 21-24 October.

Kruze Tangira will captain the side and is one of five players who took part in last year’s event, including Junior Levi, Cameron Powell, Daniel Jefferies and Joseph Tukaki.

With the 2020 Men’s Netball World Cup cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cadbury Netball Series gives the country’s top male players an opportunity to show their skills at the elite level.

The Cadbury Netball Series will be open to a live audience, while all matches will be broadcast live on Sky Sport 3.

New Zealand Men’s and Mixed Netball Association President David Pala’amo said it was exciting to see the unique series confirmed for a second year.

“It was welcome news when Netball New Zealand approached the NZMMNA Board with the idea that 2020 could see another Cadbury Netball Series,” he said.

“The 2019 series was such a success for NZMMNA that the thought of being able to take our already selected Men’s World Cup open team into a 2020 series was exhilarating. This is a great opportunity for our men’s players to shine.”

Ticket details for the 2020 Cadbury Netball Series will be announced soon.
