Netball New Zealand and its Official Volunteer Partner, Cadbury, has recognised five Centres from across the nation who have gone above and beyond to celebrate their volunteers this season.
Rangitikei, Geraldine, Malvern, South Otago and Te Puke were recently presented with a framed Silver Fern dress to acknowledge their high level of engagement in the 2021 Cadbury Netball Volunteer Initiatives.
Volunteers are at the heart of sport, and Cadbury's 42,000 Thanks Packs and the Volunteer of the Month promotion has made it easier for Centres to recognise the huge amount of work their volunteers do.
Each month, all 83 Netball Centres throughout the country are eligible to present a Cadbury hamper to their local Volunteer of the Month champion. In addition, the Cadbury Thanks Packs has been a large-scale initiative to celebrate those who tirelessly work to support the game.
"We have so many wonderful volunteers - whether it's putting out the goal posts each week, handing out the scorecards, coaching a team, washing the bibs, taking team statistics, umpiring, managing and more – to acknowledge and reward those volunteers is so important, because they make our game happen,” says Netball New Zealand Volunteer Advocate Jenna Murie.
Murie said Netball New Zealand is appreciative for Cadbury's loyal support and their dedication to implement such an ambitious and comprehensive volunteer programme should be applauded.
"Cadbury goodness is about shining a light on the generous instinct within all of us, so we’re proud to have worked with Netball New Zealand over the last three years to recognise and reward our volunteers, from grassroots levels to the elite,” says Mitch Newton of Cadbury Australia.
With the 2022 season now underway, netball Centres around the country will again have the opportunity to thank their volunteers.
Cadbury is set to provide another 40,000 Thanks Packs and hundreds of Cadbury hampers before the year is out. This year’s hampers include much loved classics like Cadbury Dairy Milk, Cadbury Favourites and Cadbury Roses, as well as new, fun and exciting flavours for you to try and share with your team.
