Ninety secondary school players from throughout New Zealand have been invited to attend National Development Camps (NDC) being held in January.
Selections were based on Zone Feedforward nominations, which include feedback provided by the Zone performance staff, Zone talent spotters and/or team coach. This was combined with previous tracking by the NNZ Emerging Talent Selectors and reviewed.
The NDC will also be an opportunity for the NNZ Emerging Talent Selectors to continue their observations as they work towards profiling our future pathway athletes.
The National Development Camps are a first step in the elite pathway journey. The objectives of the camp are to inspire and benchmark, educate and understand the pathway and what it could look like.
Over three days players will be required to undergo a series of movement competency screening to assess athlete readiness for performance. Along with specialist skill development sessions and match play opportunities, in a competitive short tournament structure.
The camps will be led by NZSS Head Coach Pelesa Semu and Assistant Coach Jo Morrison and will be supported by a number of Synergy Hair Netball League coaches from around the country.
There will be three regionalised camps across the country.
Camp 1: Upper North Island in Auckland
