NZSS Team relish time on tour to Australia

The New Zealand Secondary Schools (NZSS) Team are relishing their time together on their current tour to Australia.

Based at the Australian Institute of Sport for the week, the tour is designed to develop the players both on court and off court, learning new skills, understanding the importance of preparation and recovery as well as experiencing life on the road – a skill that players need to develop as they head toward high performance programmes.

While the tour is focussed on development opportunities and advancing player skills, the team are happy with their trip so far, putting in some really strong performances against a selection of top U17 Australian athletes. All players in the team are getting valuable court time against high level competition and new combinations are being developed throughout the court.

The 2017 NZSS Team was selected from a range of programmes including last year’s NZSS Tournament, National Development Camp, NZU17’s, NZU19’s and the Beko Netball League. The players have been involved in a number of development programmes and camps, taking skills and knowledge learned back to their own schools teams and sharing their learnings.
