NWYC2017 Blog: NZU21s head into quarter finals
Preliminary rounds has wrapped up at Netball World Youth Cup Gaborone 2017 (NWYC2017), with our NZU21s finishing on top of their pool after a record-breaking win against Sri Lanka yesterday.
NNZ caught up with mid-courter Mila Reuelu-Buchanan for an update ahead of their quarter final game against South Africa later today.
I would just like to say a warm greetings to you all.
As you all may know, today we set the highest score at the 2017 World Youth Cup in which we beat Sri Lanka 125-15.
In this photo [pictured] are our adopted school who come to every game dressed in their black gear and NZ flags – we appreciate them so much!
As happy as we are with the score, the real challenge begins tomorrow. Heading into quarter finals against South Africa (8pm NZ time), we look forward to some tough competition as we know they will bring it with everything they've got.
With such a loud crowd backing us and all our supporters who have made it here and who are at home watching, we play for you, our families and our of course our country.
No mucking around now, THIS IS IT!
Good night to those in Gaborone and of course Morena to those in Aotearoa.
