Umpiring

Have you ever considered picking up a whistle and becoming an umpire?

As an umpire you have the best seat in the house at every game!

It’s a great way for players and coaches to increase their rule knowledge; plus for those that have hung up their bib, why not pick-up a whistle – it’s a great way to stay involved!

The good news is, to get started all you need to bring is a bit of enthusiasm and a passion for the game - we’ll take care of rest and give you the tools and support you need to become an umpire.

Umpire Accreditation Framework

The NNZ Umpire Development Framework is designed to develop umpires at all levels of the game; from grassroots to elite.

There are many opportunities to become involved as an umpire in Netball, with clear pathways and support structures available for those aspiring to officiate at the highest level.

Umpire Assessors and Coaches

Throughout your umpiring journey – grassroots to elite – there will be people along the way to help you develop, improve and provide feedback and mentoring.

Umpire Coaches and Assessors are a vital tool for umpires at all levels and are available to assist at Centre, Zone, National and International levels.

Zone Theory and NZ Theory Exams

Registrations for this year’s Zone Theory and NZ Theory Umpire exams are now open via the Learning & Development portal.

Dates for the 2017 NNZ Zone Theory and New Zealand Theory exams have been set as shown below

All exams will be conducted online. Registrations for Zone Theory 1 are now open.

Once your registration has been confirmed by your Zone Umpire Development Officer, you will receive instructions on how to pay for your exam.

All exams cost $55.

When registering for the exam, please use the join code shown below so we can assign you to the right person for approval.
