Umpiring

Have you ever considered picking up a whistle and becoming an umpire?

As an umpire you have the best seat in the house at every game!

It’s a great way for players and coaches to increase their rule knowledge; plus for those that have hung up their bib, why not pick-up a whistle – it’s a great way to stay involved!

The good news is, to get started all you need to bring is a bit of enthusiasm and a passion for the game - we’ll take care of rest and give you the tools and support you need to become an umpire.

Umpire Accreditation Framework

The NNZ Umpire Development Framework is designed to develop umpires at all levels of the game; from grassroots to elite.

There are many opportunities to become involved as an umpire in Netball, with clear pathways and support structures available for those aspiring to officiate at the highest level.

Umpire Assessors and Coaches

Throughout your umpiring journey – grassroots to elite – there will be people along the way to help you develop, improve and provide feedback and mentoring.

Umpire Coaches and Assessors are a vital tool for umpires at all levels and are available to assist at Centre, Zone, National and International levels.

All exams will be conducted online.

All exams cost $55.

When registering for the exam, please use the join code shown below so we can assign you to the right person for approval.

NZ Theory Exam 2:

Registrations are now closed for the NZ Theory Exam 2 with no late registrations permitted. Candidates are currently being approved by their Zone and will be contacted on Wednesday 29th August with details about the next steps.

The exam will be held on Monday 17th September with the portal open from 6-8:30 pm in the Learning & Development Portal (see right-hand side of website for portal access).
