The Learning and Development Portal provides opportunities for Coaches, Officials, Players, Fans and Supporters to learn more about our game as well as skills specific to each role.

First time users of the Portal will need to register. You may have been given a Join Code to enter, if not this field can be left blank or you can find your relevant Join Code in the details below.
Returning users please Login with your existing username and password to ensure you can access your previous content.
Once you have entered the Portal please complete your Profile Details, be sure to include your Zone and Centre. New users will be directed to this after registrations. Returning users can find this area under ‘Account Settings’, located under the red person icon in the top right-hand corner.
If you need to reset your password at Login you can click on the ‘Forgotten Password’ link. You will then be sent an email with instructions to the email account you entered at registration.
Navigating in the Learning and Development Portal
On the left panel you will see the Learning Areas you can access. Click on the name of the Learning Area, you will then be directed to further instructions presented on the right.
Some Learning Areas you will have automatic access to, others will require a Join Code. The Join Code will either be provided to you in the Portal in the instructions presented on the right or see below for these.
Adding a Join Code
Join Codes can be added at the time of registration and once you are using your account.
For returning users Join Codes can be added under ‘Account Settings’, located under the red person icon in the top right-hand corner.

What is in the Learning and Development Portal?
The Learning Areas are:
Get Started – No Join Code needed
Modules to get your Netball online learning started. These modules also double as the pre-requisites to the Foundation and Community Coach Awards on the Netball New Zealand Coaching Framework.
NetballSmart – Join Code: netballsmart
Modules to learning about NetballSmart – the official injury prevention programme of Netball New Zealand.
Foundation – Join Code: junior
Modules that relate to Mother Earth futureFERNS, the Netball New Zealand Junior Netball Programme.
Community Coach – Join Code: coach
Modules and resources for all community coaches. The required modules for those completing their Community Coach Level 1 or Level 2 Awards, as part of the Netball New Zealand Coaching Framework, can also be found here.
PCQ – Join Code: NNZ to provide upon registration
Modules and resources for coaches completing the Performance Coach Qualification (PCQ).
Centre Theory – No Join Code needed
The Centre Theory Exam is the first step on the Netball New Zealand Umpire Pathway and allows you to pursue your Centre Umpire Award.
Zone Theory – Join Code: Click here when registrations are open
The Zone Theory Exam is the initial step towards achieving a Zone Umpire Award as part of the Netball New Zealand Umpire Pathway. To be eligible to sit this exam, you must have achieved your Centre Umpire Award.
NZ Theory – Join Code: Click here when registrations are open
The NZ Theory Exam is the initial step towards achieving a NZ Umpire Award as part of the Netball New Zealand Umpire Pathway. To be eligible for this exam, you must have achieved your Zone Umpire Award.
Umpire Coach – Join Code: Zone Umpire Lead to provide
Modules for Umpire Coaches.
Starting a Module
Once you have navigated to a Learning Area that you have access to, click on the pathway link found on the left panel under the Learning Area name. This will bring up a pathway page with an image and grey dots. Each grey dot is a module and turns red once clicked on, click on the grey dots to choose which module you would like to complete, the module title and brief outline will appear below, then click ‘Start’.
